Peace and Safety vs the Prince of Peace With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus there has been a resurgence to know what the Bible may say about such events. I see no direct connection between COVID-19 and Bible prophecy, but it certainly can lay a stage for the events the Bible does refer to. One issue will be the appearance of the so-called Antichrist. The conditions we see today are ripe for his appearance on the scene. As the world becomes more unstable, they will look for a “savior-type” to lead them to “peace and safety” (1Th.5:3). 1Th 5:3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. We do not look for so-called worldly peace and safety. We look for the Prince of Peace (Is.9:6), the Lord Jesus Christ. Isa 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Behold, our Prince is coming soon! |
