    ITickled or Hearing Ears

There is no doubt many people are feeling the pain from the Coronavirus even if they are not physically infected.
The financial crunch is real in people's lives!

O, that it would impact the false teachers and fake faith healers.
I am referring to false teachers who prey on people and give messages that they want to hear.
There were many “prophets” in the Old Testament who always gave a happy message even when hard times were coming (1Ki.22; Ek.13; Je.32).
They did not give the people the truth, because the people did not want to hear it.

There are so many who cannot pay their bills, and yet the false teachers or prosperity hucksters, tug for more money. It is shameless!
Some thought this coronavirus issue would expose as fake those who claim to have the gift of healing, but cannot heal these cases.
The reason these folks are not challenged is because they are delivering what the people want to hear.

Sadly, there are plenty of PASTORS who are willing to tell people what they WANT to hear rather than what they NEED to hear (2Tm.4:3-4).
2Ti 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2Ti 3:14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,

Also, there are plenty of PEOPLE who want their pastor to tell them what THEY WANT to hear.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
2Ti 4:4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

If you choose a mechanic who tells you what you WANT to hear rather than what you NEED to hear you may find yourself stranded on the side of the freeway someday.
To have “itching” or “tickled” ears is to have someone say things that are not true for the sake of winning them over.

May we not want to have our ears tickled. But rather let us long to hear and obey the truth of God's Word.
2Ti 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
This may not sound like words of encouragement, but sometimes a dose of truth is needed instead.
