    A Pandemic Few Talk About

Too many articles these days have the same theme. The thought is, “These are scary times we live in, and we feel hopeless and America is over”.
First of all nothing will happen to us, or America, without God allowing it. God alone holds the future. Our God is a good God!

It should be noted that negativism gets ratings, and an unrealistic view of our country.
Our society seems to thrive on tabloid news telling us we have no hope.
Humanly speaking that may seem true (remember Solomon in Ecclesiastes).
If we as believers spent less time watching or listening to daily “news” and more of God's Word, our optimism would soar.
By optimism we do not mean everything works out the way we think it should. We mean zeal for God that gives us joy in spite of our circumstances (read Philippians).

This COVID-19 virus, and pandemic, can hurt us physically that is true.
However, there was been a pandemic on the earth that is much greater than COVID-19.
It is called sin, and it not only hurts us physically, but also spiritually and eternally.
Every man, woman, and child has been born with this corrupt sinful nature.
The COVID-19 virus will affect many around the world, but sin affects absolutely everyone. Yes, this is a pandemic!

There is only one solution to this sin pandemic, it is Jesus Christ.
He alone can provide forgiveness of this universal sin problem.
Sadly, most of the world does not know about this sin pandemic and that they have this problem.
When a person recognizes their sin problem, and trusts Jesus for the forgiveness of sin, everything changes (2Co.5:17).
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Our outlook on life will be exciting, not fearful. It is understandable that the world has fear.
It is not understandable when believers in Jesus Christ have fear. Jesus said,

Mat 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Mat 11:30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
