  2020-05-08 Evangelism Questions To Ask
Often we find it difficult to start a conversation about Jesus with friends, family, or even strangers.
The following questions may help you get a conversation started.
The different questions may help for some people more than the others.
So choose which, or combination of questions, you would like to ask a certain person.

1. IF CHRISTIANITY WERE TRUE, WOULD YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
This is a moral question to see if they are intellectually honest with themselves.
It tells us whether truth matters to them.
If they say “No” then there is no need to continue talking about God.
They are not interested!
There is something going on in their life that allows them to know something is true but still reject it.
This question helps to avoid having an argument.
Even if everything you say is true, if they do not want to hear it, it does not matter.
If they say “Yes” they appear to be interested in hearing what you have to say.
Share the Gospel with them.

2. Are you a Christian?
The problem with this question is that most will say “Yes”
The better question is:
CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW SOMEONE BECOMES A CHRISTIAN?
If they cannot explain how, it may help them to realize that they may not be a Christian.
If they seem interested in hearing more, clearly and gently explain the Gospel message to them.

3. IF GOD WERE TO ASK YOU WHY SHOULD I LET YOU INTO MY HEAVEN?
What would you say to this question?
This is a great Evangelism Explosion question, and is very helpful to determine what a person trusts in.
If their answer is anything besides what Jesus accomplished for them on the cross, then you know their trust is in whatever their answer was.
For example, if they say “I am a good person” or “I try to be good” or “I am better than someone else”, you know their trust is in self-righteousness.
It is our task to explain that going to heaven has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with Jesus.
Specifically, we need to tell them about what Jesus dying on the cross accomplished for them.

4. WHAT DO YOU THINK JESUS IS DOING RIGHT NOW?
The tense is present. What IS Jesus currently doing right now?
This will bring out what they think about Jesus.
You just want to find out what they think about Jesus.
Of course you can share the following verses to answer the question.
Jesus died and rose again and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven (He.8:1)
Jesus is there interceding on behalf of His people (Rm.8:3).
These help to answer the question. Now if you sense they are still interested, share what Jesus dying on the cross really means.
The hope is that they will have other questions that give you the opportunity to share the Gospel message.

I like these conversation starters. How about you?
If you have a favorite question you like to use to start a Gospel conversation, let us know.
In an earlier study on evangelism we had about 25 opening questions to ask.
Anyway we would love to hear from you!
