  2021-03-16 A Bible Walk Through
There are 10 words that can help us as we walk through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
01. SIN. As we open up the pages of Scripture, we find that man disobeys God. As a result of this disobedience there is the next word, separation.

02. SEPARATION. Sin caused a separation from God so man no longer had access to God in the same way they did before.

03. SACRIFICE. We see early in the Garden of Eden we see that Adam and Eve sinned and deserved death. Yet God said I am not going to punish you according to what your sins deserved, instead I am going to find an innocent animal and will sacrifice that animal to pay a price that you should have paid instead of you (Ge.3:21).

04. SOLUTION. So we see that God came up with a solution to address the sin problem. The solution was to create a nation of people called the Israelites (Ge.12:2-3). The purpose of separating these people was so they would be a light in the midst of a dark generation. But unfortunately, instead of them penetrating those around them, they allowed the sinful societies around them to influence them. So, they were no longer a light that God intended for them. So God sent people called Seers or prophets to them (Jl.2:12-13). They told Israel they needed to turn around and repent, else God was going to discipline them. But they did not. As a result, God kicked them out of their land for a period of time.

05. SETTLING. The Old Testament ends with Israel settling back into the land God had promised Abraham and his descendants.

06. SAVIOR. As we open the pages of the New Testament, we see that God has sent a Savior into the world as His ultimate solution to solve the sin problem.

07. STORIES. As we go through the beginning of the New Testament, we find stories. We see Jesus doing miracles, healing, teaching, and ultimately dying on a cross for our sin. When we look at the book of Acts, we find more stories of how the church was born (Ac.2:41). It shows how the church began to be that light that God had intended the nation of Israel to be.

08. SPOKESMEN. The way the church influenced society around them was through spokesman. These spokesmen were called by God to share the message of the Gospel. People like Peter, James, Paul and Barnabas were very influential.

09. SPREAD. These spokesmen spread the gospel wherever they went (Ac.6:7). Unfortunately, many disagreed with the teaching of the spokesmen. They did not believe that Jesus was the Savior of the world.

10. SUFFERING. And so, suffering or persecution began against those that did believe. There was extreme suffering brought against the church (Ac.8:1).

11. SYMMETRY. The New Testament ends in reverse of how the Old Testament began. In the Old Testament we see that sin appears. In the New Testament, in the book of Revelation, we see that sin disappears. In Genesis because of Adam and Eve there was sin which led to death. In the book of Revelation because of Jesus Christ there is eternal life. In Genesis we saw the earth was corrupted and contaminated, but in Revelation we see there is going to be a new heaven and a new earth (Re.21:1). So, God's original design, destroyed by sin in Genesis, is going to be restored to what God had intended it to be as seen in Revelation.
